C6 / C6a - Domestic Violence (Verbal Abuse)

10 Hours / 3 Hours

Goal:


To identify how power works in relationships. 

To explore the concepts of Power Over vs. Personal Power. 

To identify family of origin setups for the development of these imbalances of power. 

To identify treatment strategies for the victim of this type of domestic violence.

Objective:


The student will be able to discuss the 2 concepts of power in abusive relationships.

The participant will be able to identify 3 family traits the may be a set up for the victim to be a victim of Verbal Abuse.

The student will be able to discuss 2 treatment strategies.

C6 is a 10 hour course, and C6a is a 3 hour shorter version of the same course.

C7 - Psychology of Selves

13 Hours

Goal:


To identify how Voice Dialogue is an effective tool when working with clients in conflict. To demonstrate how the process works.

Objective:


The student will be able to discuss how the client is lead into the experience of discussing their issues/conflicts with their primary and disowned selves.

The participant will be able to define how the process offers the client an opportunity to experience an internal psychodrama or simply air out two opposing views.

The counselor will be able to discuss how the process can be used in group of individual sessions and as a result all participating will gain a greater awareness of their behavior without the shameful judgment.

C8 / C8a / C8b - AIDS

9 Hours / 3 Hours / 4 Hours

Goal:


To explore how Working with people Living with AIDS offers a variety of challenges and solutions for health care providers.

Objective:


The student will be able to discuss medical reality of HIV/AIDS.

The student will be able to explain 3 Alternative Healing Approaches.

The participant will be able to describe 4 common Women's and Children's issues.

Participants will be able to identify Legal and Ethical Concerns for the Provider and the one living with AIDS.

The student will be able to discuss various grief issues for the one living with AIDS, the family of origin and extended family members.

C8 is a 9 hour course, C8a is a 3 hour shorter version, and C8b is a 4 hour shorter version of the same course.

C9 / C9a - Sexual Abuse & Incest

17 Hours / 3 Hours

Goal:


To introduce health care providers to issues specific to clients suffering from the effects of sexual abuse & incest.

Objective:


Participants will be able to describe how to treat male and female survivors of this trauma.

The student will be able to define sexual abuse and how the definition applies to a variety of situations.

Participants will be able to discuss sexual boundary violations and healing from these violations.

  • Michael Yeager has created a 60 hour Professional Certification Training Program for working with this population. It incorporates western and eastern approaches to healing. C9 is a 17 hour course, and C9a is a 3 hour shorter version of the same course.

C10 / C10a - Sexual Addiction 101

14 Hours / 3 Hours

Goal:


The overall goal is to present the underlying causes of sexually addictive behaviors and discuss treatment strategies for recovery. 

To end the stigma and shame associated with sexually addictive behaviors.

Objective:


Participants will be able to describe the 3 levels of sexual addiction.

Participants will be able to construct an initial treatment plan for the sexual addict.

Participants will be able to discuss 3 treatment strategies.

c10 is a 14 hour course, c10a is a 3 hour shorter version of the same course.
